OPERATIONS COMMENCE AT NEW HARDEN AMBULANCE STATION

The beginning of operations at the brand new Harden NSW Ambulance Station was announced today.
The new Harden ambulance station has been delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $122 million Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration program.
The modern facility will enable NSW Ambulance to meet the mobile emergency care needs of Harden and surrounding communities for years to come.
Following the completion of construction, the new station underwent a carefully planned fit-out and commissioning process which has ensured the ongoing delivery of high quality mobile emergency care during the transition.
NSW Ambulance Southern Zone Manager Mark Gibbs said with the facility designed with input from local paramedics, the station would better support the needs of frontline staff.
“Local staff are settling in well to the new Harden station, and are excited to have a new purpose built facility to support them in delivering expert clinical care to patients throughout Harden and surrounding communities,” Mr Gibbs said.
Located on the corner of Lucan and Scott Streets, Harden’s new ambulance station includes:
• Parking bays for up to three ambulance vehicles to ensure our infrastructure is ready to meet projected patient demand increases over the next decade and beyond
• Administration, office area and amenities
• On site staff parking
• A logistics and storage area
• An external vehicle wash bay
The RAIR program includes 22 locations across the state which will benefit from an upgraded, rebuilt or entirely new ambulance station.
Local ambulance station projects already announced under RAIR include Harden, Griffith, Cootamundra, Wagga Wagga and Grenfell which will further enhance the delivery of paramedic care across the wider region.
The program comes as the biggest regional and rural transformation of NSW Ambulance infrastructure in the state’s history.
