7 July 2018
The preferred site of Grenfell’s new ambulance station at the Grenfell Multi-Purpose Service was announced today.
Health Infrastructure, NSW Ambulance, the Western NSW Local Health District along with the Weddin Shire Council are all working together to deliver this vital piece of infrastructure for the Grenfell district.
The new station planned to be co-located with Grenfell MPS on the Mid Western Highway will feature facilities that are a major improvement on the current 120-year-old station on Main Street, enabling local NSW Ambulance paramedics to better meet the mobile emergency medical care needs of Grenfell and surrounds well into the future.
NSW Ambulance Duty Operations Manager Daniel Clark said the location was carefully chosen to service the needs of the community.
“The new site at will enable local NSW Ambulance paramedics to respond efficiently to the current and future demand for emergency medical care in Grenfell and surrounds,” Mr Clark said.
“Local paramedics provided feedback on the site, the purpose-built Grenfell NSW Ambulance station will deliver a better working environment for them which is a win-win with huge benefits for the community.”
A community information drop-in booth will be manned on the site, adjacent to the Grenfell MPS, on Wednesday July 11 from 11.30am to 5.30pm for people to visit.
Once completed, the Grenfell NSW Ambulance station will include:
- Internal parking for up to three emergency ambulance vehicles
- Administration and office areas
- Logistics and storage areas
- Relief accommodation
- Staff parking
The next steps include seeking planning approval for the new station.
