CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE ON NSW AMBULANCE STATION AT ST GEORGES BASIN

In December 2018, an official party inspected the new Bay and Basin NSW Ambulance station, located on The Wool Road, following the recent completion of its construction.

NSW Ambulance will now begin a carefully planned fit out and commissioning process before the station becomes operational.

This commissioning process will be conducted before a staged roll-out of services which will ensure the ongoing delivery of high-quality emergency care during the transition.

Designed with input from local paramedics, the station will enable NSW Ambulance to better meet the mobile emergency care needs of the Bay and Basin communities for years to come.

The new station includes:
  • Internal parking for up to four emergency ambulance vehicles
  • Administration and office areas
  • Multipurpose meeting/training room
  • Relief accommodation
  • Logistics and storage areas
  • Staff parking
  • Delivery and loading bay
  • External wash bay

The station is scheduled to become fully operational late 2018.

The RAIR program currently includes 23 locations across the state that will benefit from an upgraded, rebuilt or entirely new ambulance station including completed stations at Wagga Wagga, Coolamon, Ardlethan, Harden, Molong, Griffith, Kiama and Berry.

The RAIR program represents the biggest regional and rural transformation of NSW Ambulance infrastructure in the organisation’s history.
