Preferred site for Cowra's new Ambulance Station announced

6 July 2018

The preferred site of Cowra’s new ambulance station at 41 Kite Street was announced today.

The new build at 41 Kite Street will feature facilities that are a major improvement on the current 38-year-old station on Shelley Street, enabling local paramedics to better meet the mobile emergency medical care needs of Cowra and surrounds well into the future.

NSW Ambulance Duty Operations Manager Daniel Clark said the location was chosen to be better able to respond to where patients need us, when they need us.

“The new site at will enable local NSW Ambulance paramedics to better meet the current and future demand for emergency medical care in Cowra and surrounds,” Mr Clark said.

“Designed with input from local paramedics, the purpose-built Cowra NSW Ambulance station will deliver a better working environment for paramedics tailored to the needs of the local community.”

A community information drop-in booth will be manned on the site, on Tuesday July 10 from 11.30am to 5.30pm for people to visit.

Once completed, the Cowra NSW Ambulance station will include:
  • Internal parking for up to seven emergency ambulance vehicles
  • Administration and office areas
  • Amenities
  • Logistics and storage areas
  • Relief accommodation
  • Staff parking

The next steps include seeking planning approval for the new station.
