Construction on the new NSW Ambulance station at Bathurst has been completed.

This is a significant milestone in the NSW Government’s election commitment to build a new ambulance station at Bathurst as part of the $122 million Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration (RAIR) program.

The new station, located at 6 Commonwealth Street, Bathurst will enable local NSW Ambulance paramedics to better meet the current and future patient demand for emergency medical care in Bathurst and surrounds.

The new Bathurst NSW Ambulance station includes:
  • Internal parking for up to 10 emergency ambulance vehicles
  • Administration and office areas
  • Staff amenities
  • Logistics and storage areas
  • Fleet maintenance area
  • Internal wash bay
  • Advanced training complex
  • Staff parking
  • Deliveries and loading bay
Health Infrastructure and NSW Ambulance will now begin the carefully planned internal works and fit out and then operational commissioning of the station.

This is before a staged roll-out of services which will ensure the ongoing delivery of high-quality emergency care during the transition and relocation from the current station to the new station.

To date, 23 upgraded, rebuilt or new regional and rural ambulance stations have been announced under the RAIR program, including constructed stations at Wagga Wagga, Coolamon, Ardlethan, Harden, Molong, Griffith, Kiama, Berry, Bay & Basin, Toukley, Wauchope and Hamlyn Terrace.

This represents the biggest regional and rural transformation of NSW Ambulance infrastructure in the organisation’s history.
